September 2014 Update

I've got lots on the go this fall and am excited to announce participation in the Emily Carr Alumni Art Market September 27 & 28th.

Summer Show & New Paintings

Hello friends!

This last year has been a real whirlwind, with the arrival of my biggest creation yet- a baby girl! Olivia Ethel Maud McWade came into this world on October 1st. We are thrilled!

I have, however, managed to stay in the loop a little and have ONE show planned this summer. June 24th, in Vancouver at the Railway Club with some of my favourite singer/songwriters BW Brandes, Corinna Rose and Morgan MacDonald. Early show at 6:30pm.

Also, I have just completed a large painting commission for an office space and am starting another portrait project soon. It feels good to be back in the studio again!

Fall 2012 News

The Vancouver album launch at the Railway Club was a great success! Thanks to everyone who came out. Zaac Pick played a wonderful opening set and my Vancouver Othermen were amazing.

Now, onto the Montreal Launch, Oct 4th at La Sala Rosa, 8pm. You can visit the facebook event here.

Also, I will be posting tour dates soon: to Winnipeg and back mid-September for the Harvest Moon Festival and then from Montreal out west in November- both with David Simard.

Spring/Summer tours and Fall Album Release dates...

Hello friends!

First of all, www.brieneilson.com is under construction, so please bare with me.
In the mean time, here is a wee update...

My long awaited full-length album "Picture Show" is almost done and ready to launch. I'll be touring this May as a trio with Gabrielle Papillon and Corinna Rose through Ontario and again with David Simard in June to the Maritimes. August will bring me west to prepare for my Vancouver launch in the end of the month, and then back to Montreal for my October 4th launch at Sala Rosa.

In case you are one of the proud owners of my limited edition copies of "Picture Show", here is who played on the album and where and when:

Recorded at Studio Victor in Montreal in November-January of 2011/12 by Élie Jalbert. My "Othermen" on the album are: Tim van de Ven on drums, Ram Krishnan on bass, tambourine & vocals, Declan O'Donovan on piano & vocals, David Simard on guitar & vocals, Franco Proietti on baritone sax, Alex Gutjhar on trumpet, & Kyla Campbell on trombone. Thank you to all my friends, family and fans who made this possible!

Album Update

Recording is almost done and we're almost ready to mix...
Studio Victor was a dream. A huge thankyou to all my Othermen (and one girl on trombone) for their hard work and I can't WAIT for the final product.
